Town Dock began as a small fillet house in Wickford, Rhode Island, moving to its waterside facility in Point Judith in 1980. The company has grown into one of the largest seafood processors in Rhode Island with unloading, processing, and freezing facilities under one roof. We service over half of the port's boats (approximately 30 full time deep sea fishing trawlers) as well as a large day-boat fleet. We handle all the southern New England and Mid-Atlantic species of fish including Squid, Monkfish, Flounder, Whiting, Scup, Butterfish, and Fluke.
Town Dock ships fresh and frozen fish both domestically and worldwide. Sashimi-grade products are flown to the West Coast and Japan on a daily basis, and fish is trucked to the markets in Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and the Midwest. The company cuts fresh flounder, yellowtail, and fluke fillets. Landings from our day boat fleet help ensure our high quality.
Town Dock's signature items are its quality lines of foodservice-ready cleaned Calamari. Relying on our fishing fleet and our sources on the Eastern seaboard, we buy millions of pounds of domestic Loligo squid each year to service our customer base. Our buyers project months in advance to ensure that our customers will always have product.
Strict attention is paid to the cleaning and packing of the squid to maintain one of the highest quality Calamari packs in the country.
In addition to domestic Calamari, Town Dock sources squid directly with overseas processors, most notably in China. This flexibility allows Town Dock to have a line of calamari to meet many different customer's needs. Processors pack to our strict specifications and company representatives visit their plants several times each year.
Town Dock continues to grow, adding new product lines every year. These new lines will meet the high quality standards the customer can expect from Town Dock.
